Responsibilities
• Help lead a team of producers in bureaus on the acquisition, selection, editing, publishing and distribution of live and on-demand video content.
• Maintain quality control of video products and ensure best practices are being met
• Coach producers in the editing process to create the best video experiences for various platforms
• Edit all text to be used on-screen and for headlines and captions
• Ensure video content is being tagged with editorially relevant metadata
• Coordinate with Director of digital video on coverage planning and scheduling
• Assist with training and onboarding of new hires
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum five years of experience producing, editing or promoting video on the web YES
• Expertise in nonlinear editing systems and motion graphics
• Excellent journalistic writing skills and editorial judgment to ensure all copy is fair and balanced
• Deep knowledge of content management/online publishing systems
• Expert knowledge of NBC news programs and our correspondents

• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
Desired Characteristics
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or other discipline emphasizing storytelling and multimedia creation
• Keen ability to set priorities and make quick decisions calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, often-hectic environment
• Strong leadership skills and MENTORING ABILITIES to provide junior staff direction
• Superior eye for spotting interesting video
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with other teams and upper management
• Passion for current events, national politics and pop culture
• Understanding of broadcast news production
• Extensive knowledge of non-traditional TV and social media platforms
• Strong organizational skills and strong work ethic
• Excellent time management skills
• Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekend shifts
