VP, Distribution - Crackle Latin America

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) operates three complementary lines of business: 1) Distribution of SPE's feature films and television programming to television outlets around the world, 2) Local television production in key international markets, 3) International television networks and digital networks.
General Summary:
Sony Pictures Television Inc. – Crackle, is currently seeking an experienced business development executive to grow the distribution of Crackle and develop the product offering to MVPDs in Latin America, the Caribbean and Brazil. The candidate must have established business relationships in the territory, demonstrated a successful track record in driving distribution partnerships, and be capable of designing and implementing distribution strategies that work within the territory’s competitive framework. This role reports to the General Manager of Crackle Latin America, while supporting the needs of the territory general managers in a matrix organization.
Responsibilities:
• Define distribution priorities based on competitive framework.
• Identify trends and opportunities to enhance build out of Crackle in the region.
• Analyze competitive framework and recommend product and model enhancements to refine commercial offering.
• Establish and develop business relationship network with MVPDs in the region.
• Model requirements and options to help drive Crackle distribution.
• Define go to market strategies and proposals, including presentation materials.
• Drive Crackle distribution in designated region.
• Collaborate with product and marketing teams to onboard and deploy Crackle integration according to negotiated set of requirements.
• With distribution and management team define and deliver tailor made distribution and commercialization strategies.
• Develop and deliver MSO-specific incentive plans for cross selling, upselling and retention programs, and analysis of programs performance and recommendations to optimize ROI.
• Define annual budget and mid range planning to deliver revenue targets. Preparation and implementation of strategic plans focused on growing revenue and long-term profitability Latin America, Caribbean and Brazil.
• Collaborate with product team to enhance distribution-related product features, including those helping drive user acquisition and retention.
• Positioning and establishing Crackle’s OTT service leadership among Pay TV industry
• Grow Crackle SVOD penetration in Latin America, Caribbean and Brazil, meeting targets and optimizing cycle times.
• Leading the distribution team, including a designated regional territory
a. country managers of Latin America, Caribbean and Brazil territories will report into this position
b. provide best practices, deal guidance and general management, while following the
company’s approval matrix and allowing GMs sufficient autonomy to run their markets
• Responsibility for regional deals with major partners. Includes negotiation and general strategy for maximizing pricing and revenues.
• Collaborate with other areas of the business and sister companies to help grow Crackle business.
Requirements:
• 10 years minimum experience in distribution role.
• Fluent written and spoken English, and Spanish and/or Portuguese.
• Business Planning and Analytical skills.
• Computer literate (Excel, Power Point).
• Sales ability; creative deal structuring; strong relationship/interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication/presentation and negotiation skills.
• Proactive strategic approach.
• Proven business acumen.
• Thorough operational and commercial understanding of the pay TV business in Latin America, Caribbean and Brazil, and established business relationships with MSOs top management.
• International exposure, with experience of working on deals across international territories.
• Moderate travel is required.
Education:Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA is preferred.
