Job Summary:
Responsible as insurance programs financial analyst for Risk Management department managing high deductible and global insurance programs. Position will be responsible for producing and analyzing loss data reporting using Excel worksheets, producing claims reports, loss trend reports and reconciliation reviews using various 3rd party database sources and advanced Excel spreadsheets. This position supports the department’s financial reporting and audit protocols, loss reporting to field, allocations of costs, and maintenance of insurance schedules. Analyst will work closely with department management and external actuaries to provide reporting of self- retained loss reserve projections and Risk Management program cost allocations models. Position is key contributor to meeting RMIS data quality and data integrity objectives. Must be detail oriented and work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Responsible for generating loss analysis reports of Risk Management program costs in coordination with Management needs including claims, premium, exposure trends using Excel spreadsheet and RMIS database reporting tools. Work closely with Management to develop customized loss reporting and claims data reporting to meet their review requirements. Responsible for input of policy and payment data to maintain database records integrity
• Responsible for preparing spreadsheet reconciliation of financial loss data in support of Management’s review of actuarial quarterly loss analysis reports. Coordinate and compile data relative to insurance internal and external audits as required. Responsible for gathering, organizing and distributing risk exposure data in response to external requests. Assist Management in accounts reconciliation reviews and conduct periodic audits of vendor transactions data.
• Assist Management in preparation of internal Cost Allocation model including the preparation, follow up and providing accounting reports of the related invoice statements. Responsible for maintaining department’s audit documentation files. Assist department in obtaining and maintaining insured asset schedules and key exposure metrics for cost analysis reporting.
• Key function in maintaining integrity of Risk Management data in database and providing loss analysis reporting. Provide back up support to Risk Management department as part of team in various functions including Certificate of Insurance program and claims reporting assistance to various levels of management. Assist with the gathering and preparation of corporate insurance exposure data to support the completion of various policy applications.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business field or insurance related area and/or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
• Prefer 1-3 years related experience in accounting, data analysis or risk management/ insurance industry experience.
• Requires strong accounting, data reporting and data analysis skills
• Requires advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Office Suite and database reporting skills.
• Prior RMIS system experience is plus.
• Basic understanding of insurance, claims or risk management processes is a plus.
