Responsibilities
The Director of Technology is responsible setting the technology strategy for animated television production as well as overseeing all technology related aspects of the DreamWorks Television business in partnership with DreamWorks Television Studio executives. The Director of Technology will oversee all technology employees at DreamWorks Television facilities and coordinate with both DreamWorks Feature Animation as well as NBCUniversal technology organizations to capitalize on synergies to drive efficiencies into the achievement of studio objectives. This position will be based at the DreamWorks Television facility in Glendale California and report to the CTO of DreamWorks Feature Animation.
Responsibilities/Duties
Establish and communicate technology strategies that support DreamWorks Television direction, development and future growth.
Oversee all aspects of the company’s technology requirements including operational support, production pipeline support, post production, archive and backup, information security, file transfer, communication, and software and hardware purchases.
Provide technical leadership to all areas of the studio including creative development, post production, production and operations to identify technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain safety and security of DreamWorks TV Animation digital intellectual property.
Conduct research on leading edge technologies and make determinations on the impact to efficiency and creativity as well as feasibility of implementation.
Maintain close relationships with software and hardware vendors to leverage and influence technology roadmaps.
Provide technology assessments for all DreamWorks Television production partners.
Maintains close alignment with DreamWorks Feature Animation and NBCUniversal technology goals that benefit the studio.
Desired Characteristics
BS in Computer Science or Engineering
Prefer 15 years experience in technology in support of animated content production
Prefer 10 years management and strategic experience in the field of technology to support animated content production
Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff
Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
Strong industry acumen and DCC vendor relationships
Strong writing and presentation skills
