Telemundo Station Group, part of the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division of NBCUniversal, is comprised of 17 local television stations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. In Addition, Telemundo Station Group operates TeleXitos, the national multicast network that offers viewers popular action and adventure television series and feature films in Spanish. The group also provides support to 53 Telemundo affiliates across the country and manages dedicated local websites and applications, as well as a robust digital out-of-home operation.
Responsibilities
Role responsibilities include: Editing and shooting stories, interviews, videos, packages and other projects as assigned. Assisting producers with coordinating and directing shoots and contribute in the pre-production process. Maintain production equipment and computer backup systems. Keep up production video database as well as software, keep track of upgrades, and keep supervisors and engineering department apprised of software and maintenance needs. Complete projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Minimum 5 years of television news production experience required.
-Must be fully knowledgeable of all aspects of ENG field operations.
-Must understand how to do great and creative live shots with cutting edge technologies within time constraints.
-Must be proficient working with non-linear editing systems.
-Must be willing to travel as required.
-Must be able to work in the studio as needed.
-Must be able to help for edit show when necessary.
-Will work on other station projects as assigned.
-When necessary the candidate will work in a control room environment working audio, teleprompter or any of the production positions assigned.
-Must be Proficient with the Panasonic P2 workflow
-Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record and be able to operate a microwave truck.
-Must be able to carry 50lbs. of weight.
-Must understand File Transfer Protocol workflows and Windows OS.
-Job requires the ability to perform well for extended periods of time, outdoors in all kinds of weather and with a high degree of self-sufficiency.
-Must be fluent in Spanish and English both spoken and written.
-Must have excellent communications skills.
-Must work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
-Must be self-motivated, problem-solver, collaborative and possess a high level of creativity to tell stories with sound and images both alone or with reporters or producers.
-Must be willing to work long hours and weekends and holidays when needed.
-Must be willing to work at the station in Denver, CO
Desired Characteristics
-Degree in broadcast journalism/ TV Production/ Communications.
-Excellent newsgathering skills, good understanding news production. -Work independently and capture informative and reliable newsgathering images and audio for broadcast.
-Exceptional knowledge navigating the Internet and working with computers and digital equipment.
-Work with others efficiently under daily and deadline pressure.
-Has the ability to excel within a fast-paced and multi-cultural broadcast operation and local news team environment.
-Solve basic technical issues in the field
