OVERVIEW
This role will be pivotal in contributing to corporate development at AMC Networks. The VP, Corporate Development will work closely with internal and external teams on any number of deals and projects. This position is located in New York. We are looking for an accomplished, executive with at least 10 years of experience leading, managing, developing, and executing strategic plans and managing business development efforts within complex organizations. Experience in TV, entertainment and digital is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Expert in corporate development and strategy in the areas of digital and traditional media.
• Work in close collaboration with the senior executive team to evaluate both long term and short term strategic initiatives and assess business development deals and relationships
• Must demonstrate a track record of driving and managing the development and growth of new business opportunities and products, including acquisitions, joint ventures and business expansion efforts.
• Ability to evaluate and prioritize among multiple opportunities and to recommend which can provide maximum leverage to the company's objectives.
• Results oriented, proactive and a highly responsive individual with excellent negotiation skills; including acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances with content and technology providers; and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead, design and execute diligence including financial, accounting, tax and legal considerations.
• Possess a proven ability to identify and solve complex problems, drive results and build strong industry partnerships and relationships.
• Actively monitor and evaluate market developments and trends across all platforms, with a keen eye toward new and emerging technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Anticipates business trends, evolving technologies or practices, and/or regulatory changes.
• Ability to identify and recommend innovative improvements that have a high impact on the business.
• Recognizes the need for changing priorities based on knowledge of market opportunities.
• BS/BA in related discipline and at least 10+ years of experience in related field - OR - MS/MA/MBA or other graduate degree and at least 8+ years of experience in related field.
• Prior M&A investment banking experience is required.
