An exciting new opportunity has opened for a DevOps Engineer within Digital Manufacturing Group working on an exciting new product area within generative design.
The successful candidate will wear many hats: first responder, configuration management developer, system architect, capacity planner, and monitoring expert. Superlative technical and communication skills are required for you to be successful within this role.
A "best practices", common sense approach to a global DevOps Engineer role should be demonstrated in previous work experiences and considered second nature to the applicant.
Responsibilities:
• Deploy and configure web infrastructure and applications
• Monitor infrastructure for availability, performance & security
• Performance tuning, load balancing and optimizing the user experience
• Implement appropriate release procedures for application releases
• Plan and upgrade the infrastructure and products
• Recommend and implement tools for performance, security and availability
• Operational support – raise alerts to application development
• Work with development, quality assurance and documentation teams during the product development cycle to ensure quality control.
• Automate processes were possible and create new technologies when needed.
• Liaison with hosting partners to troubleshoot problems
Requirements (Technical):
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Amazon Web Services strongly recommended (EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM)
• 1+ years experience with Docker and container orchestration systems (AWS ECS, DCOS, Kubernetes)
• 2+ years of technical experience in managing complex web infrastructure
• 2+ years of Linux administration experience (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
• 2+ years of service administration experience (Apache, Tomcat, NodeJS, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Continuous Integration systems (Bamboo, Jenkins)
• Experience with performance tuning, load balancing (haproxy, ELB) and caching (Varnish, Memcache, Redis) is a plus
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, Chef) is a plus
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Sensu, CloudWatch)
• Strong shell scripting skills
• Familiarity with application development lifecycle
Requirements (Qualitative):
• Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with multiple types of audiences ranging from managers, customers, partners and software development personnel
• Keen interest in new technologies and their timely adoption
• Ability to work on multiple complex environments simultaneously
• Ability to work well in a team to deliver on team goals
• Ability to communicate with local, remote and international teams
