Charter Spectrum Reach, the media advertising group within Charter Communications, is seeking an experienced Digital Product Manager to partner with our digital editorial/content, operations, product and marketing teams to implement a new & consistent monetization strategy for News and Sports sites that make up Spectrum Networks. We are looking to drive the next wave of revenue growth across our unique properties. The person in this role will assist in guiding internal departments and external partners from big picture online, mobile, social and native strategies to the ad revenue-generation phase. Spectrum Networks growth will be defined in many different ways, but ad revenue and traffic are the primary KPIs.
The candidate must have demonstrable experience in product management, and a deep understanding of today’s digital landscape and trends. This includes knowledge of site / network monetization, the programmatic space, DSP/SSP, DMP, ad exchanges, ad networks, ad servers, and a strong working knowledge of IAB’s digital media best practices and standards. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of web technologies and familiar with operating a Publisher website.
The candidate will work closely with editorial/content teams, ad operations, yield management, sales, product marketing, and industry experts as well as engineering and technical teams to drive product development and support sales solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with the Spectrum Networks editorial/content team to support and build digital initiatives that inform, educate and entertain visitors coupled with a monetization strategy providing advertisers a unique opportunity to reach a valuable audience.
• Plan, design and execute ad solutions (e.g. native, pre-roll, high impact banners, etc.) that generate premium revenue, while being hyper-cognizant of impacts on user experience.
• Drive strategic digital product decisions via evaluation of DMP & site traffic trends, marketer’s needs, competition and market analysis and develop prospective product solutions accordingly.
• Document detailed product requirements in accordance with managing the short-term & long-term roadmap inclusive of site improvements and additional revenue related capabilities.
• Lead ongoing communications, meetings, and status reports to build rapport, transparency, and maintain pursuant healthy relationships among key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Spectrum Reach product marketing team to define key value proposition, maintain relevant sales collateral and other product release activities for ad sales enablement.
• Manage release schedule for areas of product responsibility to deliver committed scope, on schedule and with the highest possible degree of quality
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• An expert in one/more: multi-platform (web/mobile/etc.), video/ad products, analytics, Native, Sponsorships, and Data revenue streams.
• Understanding of and experience with TV, digital campaigns, 2nd screens and KPIs.
• Proven knowledge of digital media ecosystem with experience in audience data selling.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment and work well with different stakeholders.
• Open and highly collaborative mentality with strong interpersonal skills and able to work with senior management and strive in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with technical infrastructure to sell and serve digital ads across multiple platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Marketing or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years product management experience working on digital advertising products, solutions and technologies.
• Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
• Excellent verbal and written business communication skills and proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate insights in a clear and effective manner with a good mix of business analysis skills
