The Product Planning, Development, and Marketing Group includes all the functional areas that work together to develop instructional materials that meet current pedagogical and market needs for PreK-12. Content is developed for a wide range of media formats, including interactive digital media as well as print. Colleagues within PDM have varying expertise including the following: subject-matter expertise across all academic subject areas, design, art and photo management, production management, quality assurance, content engineering, and permissions and licensing.
HMH is excited to fuel marketing strategies with rich, meaningful content, highlighting best-in-class research, thought leadership, and innovation and is looking fora Copywriter, Marketing Promotions. As a Copywriter, Marketing Promotions on our newly organized Content Marketing team, you’ll develop promotional copywriting efforts across HMH’s K-12 business, helping to build upon HMH’s strong reputation as a leader in the education market and drive leads for core, intervention, and services businesses.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops whip-smart, compelling promotional content in support of K-12 campaigns based on a deep understanding of audience, customer need, message, business objective, market research, and product positioning.
• Writes content for nurture campaigns from lead generation through conversion; includes emails, newsletters, landing pages, etc. Follows digital best practices.
• Collaborates with product marketing and account planning teams to ensure that copy complements marketing goals.
• Identifies content that can be further developed for other marketing pieces, such as infographics, videos, blog posts, etc.
• Coordinates with Account Managers and the design team to facilitate the execution of print collateral, such as product-launch brochures, and digital campaign efforts
• Requests metrics from the Copy Manager to track KPIs and use results for future planning
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors degree or higher
• 3+ years experience as a copywriter
• Marketing, communications, or agency background preferred
• Education publishing industry preferred
• Superb writing, communication & presentation skills
• Well versed in writing all content marketing types including, but not limited to: brochures and other print collateral, emails, and web copy
• Team player with strong cross-functional, project management skills
• Creative thinker able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
This role can work out of our Manhattan, Boston, Orlando or Austin (Round Rock) locations.
