Role Purpose
The Video Editor will assist in the creation of original and repackaged content for the “Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA,” a new US Television network where fans can discover the power of sport and share in the excitement of the Olympic Games all year round. In this role the successful candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively and will be responsible for ensuring that the technical and aesthetic standards established by the team are consistently met.
Responsibilities
Work independently or with producers to format internationally sourced programming for domestic US distribution
Reformat and repackage existing domestic content for digital distribution channel
Ensure all content meets established video and audio standards
Working knowledge of video and audio test equipment a must
Experience with sub-titling and captioning preferred
Be a poised team player who can juggle multiple projects at once
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field
Minimum five (2) years’ experience editing in a post-production facility, television station or network
Minimum three (2) years’ experience editing on an Avid editing platform
Minimum three (2) years’ experience working in an Avid Interplay environment
Additional Qualifications
High level understanding of working in a complex multi-rez environment
High level understanding of digital workflows and file-based delivery
Ability and desire to learn new post-production technologies as they develop
Experience using Sapphire and Magic Bullet editing plug-ins
Must present an editing reel that demonstrates proficiency in creative storytelling and the use dynamic visual effects
