Position Summary:
The Product Manager will own the roadmap for our API and other back-end systems. This person will be the Product Owner for the Scrum Teams and manage the Agile backlogs. He/she will translate business user stories into technical user stories that can be consumed by back-end developers. He/she will also ensure that the priorities of these teams are synchronized with the roadmaps of multiple client teams which depend on these systems to function, and that the implementation supports User Experience goals for SiriusXM's in-car, in-home and out-of-home Streaming services. This position may also own the feature roadmap for one or more areas of SiriusXM's Streaming service evolution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define and drive SiriusXM roadmap for our API and back-end systems
• Work closely with other Product Managers, UX designers, Engineering, Data Scientists, IT and external partners prioritize the workload of the API and back-end teams
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria and develop a prioritized backlog
• Budget development and management
• Work closely with other product managers to provide a consistent experience across all of SiriusXM's products
• Be the Product Owner for one or more Scrum teams and work closely with the Scrum Master, Development lead and QA to ensure a regular release cadence on assigned platform(s)
• Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS/MS in Engineering, Science, Business, Finance, Marketing or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of total professional experience
• 3+ years in Product Management of consumer digital / software products
• Experience in Product Management and/or development of complex serving systems for web and/or mobile applications
• Streaming media experience a big plus. Suitable alternate experience includes e-commerce or other high-availability mass-market services
• Agile training and experience preferred
Requirements and General Skills:
• Strong knowledge in media and entertainment
• Experience in web or mobile Product Management
• User Experience savvy and the ability to drive decisions and work from a "user-first" standpoint, balancing technical constraints with the goal of creating a superior User Experience for SiriusXM's subscribers
• Ability to utilize and interpret data to drive and support product decisions
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
• Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals
• Good public speaking and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
• Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
• Strong interest in current events and pop culture, as related to assigned channels / programs
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure e.g. Amazon Web Services
• Knowledge of Internet security systems
• Experience with Agile management tools-- Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) desirable
