JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Database Marketing Campaign Operations is responsible for lead generation and quality execution for an entire marketing channel (Direct Mail, Email, Direct Sales, and Outbound Telemarketing). This includes marketing aimed at individual consumers and small-to-medium-sized Businesses. This individual will manage all segments and marketing programs within their channel, and will also be expected to rotate and partner with their peers on other channels.
This role entails working with complex data in a relational database environment. This individual will be comfortable working with numerous data sources to determine an optimized serviceable marketing universe. This individual will have the opportunity to work on all programs within their channel, create marketing analytics and performance metrics, design more efficient processes to generate leads, and strengthen quality data controls. He or she is also expected to solve long standing operational issues and work in a cross functional environment to create streamlined efficient processes.
In addition to creating quality leads, this individual is expected to leverage industry knowledge to increase our lead universe within our serviceable footprint and manage a host of third parties to expand our intelligence. This individual will be comfortable managing several vendors. This person also serves as a Business Analyst who is able to consult with their marketing peers on future strategies, explain variances in volumes month to month, interrogate criteria to find missing volume, create new data solutions, manage marketing projects, and reengineer marketing programs to yield better results.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
• Generate quality leads and optimize volumes for marketing campaigns
• Create robust controls for list generation
• Gather, refine and validate complex business requirements, interdependencies, potential risks and issues to automate processes and functions.
• Utilize available and necessary database marketing tools, techniques and software solutions to support the creation of an enterprise-wide approach toward data-driven decision making and evaluation.
• Translate high level business process design or redesign and documentation as needed.
• Manage the development of standard and ad hoc reports related to the data warehouse and data append processes.
• Design complex campaign lists, work with channel marketers, and respond to list selection requests for direct marketing campaigns, research efforts, business issue analyses, etc.
• Manage toll-free number assignment, tracking, resting and reuse.
• Ensure all data capture needs are met, including file hygiene and offer history.
• Ensure the integrity of data in the direct-to-consumer marketing data warehouse.
• Supervise and direct the work of vendor resources
• Co-manage vendor relationship and interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge
• Strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of table relationships
• Database and table relationships
• Expertise with campaign management or automated marketing tools (i.e. Unica, Eloqua, etc., Unica experience preferred)
• Excel, pivot tables
• Process Management, LEAN / Six Sigma methodologies are a plus
• Knowledge of cable television, high speed Internet and phone products and services preferred
• Ability to execute campaign management projects working in a large environment with multiple campaign channels
• Ability to translate campaign strategies into data extract files and ensure secure delivery on time
• Ability to conduct campaign performance analysis and communicate results to cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to think strategically
• Highly developed capacity for teamwork and a strong focus on the customer
• Penchant to work with a sense of urgency
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Management, Business, Finance or related discipline
MBA /Masters preferred
Related Work Experience
Database marketing experience; 7-10 years
Project Management; 4+ years
