Development Editor – Adult ELT
Macmillan Publishers Ltd is looking for an experienced English Language Teaching Development Editor to work in its exciting and dynamic International Adult Publishing team.
The editor will work on a range of print and digital materials including coursebooks and online resources for the Adult market. Working closely with the Publishers and in-house commissioning team, the editor will play a key role in shaping and developing content in accordance with market and customer requirements. The successful applicants will work closely with authors, digital software developers, instructional designers and freelance editors to ensure the development of high quality and market appropriate content.
The ideal candidates will possess:
• Demonstrable understanding of ELT teaching and learning contexts
• Content development experience and strong editorial skills
• Understanding of digital workflows and processes, and experience of working in a cross-functional team
• Experience of working on, and managing, complex and time-sensitive projects
• Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced publishing environment
• Experience of managing authors and freelancers
• Ability to work within a team and to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• A can-do, positive attitude and commitment to achieving results
