What’s the role?
The role of Sales Relationship Manager is to forge deep and trusted relationships with our clients, taking the time to understand their businesses, their pressures and concerns, the ins and outs of their workflow and technology. Armed with this intel and your consultative approach, you will uncover opportunities for us to expand our partnerships whilst at the same time increasing our clients overall operating efficiency in a cost efficient manner.

South Africa has been a rapidly emerging economy, and a market we believe continues to offer us opportunities to expand our revenues.
As a key global emerging market, the buy-side business is one of the more complex with respect to the assets they manage, and the approaches they employ. The corporate sector is also a source of growth as South Africa is the centre for many leading miners and consumer service firms. The asset managers and corporations are well resourced, and covered by an advanced banking sector. You’ll also keep your ears close to the ground, up to date with the latest trends and business initiatives within the region. For this role you can be based in either Cape Town or Johannesburg.
We’ll trust you to:
• Effectively manage the sales cycle from identifying opportunities to generating revenue through terminal and enterprise solutions sales
• Collaborate with specialised sales teams to promote and achieve firm wide targets
• Be vocal on what our gaps exist with our offering and help define a clear strategy in the key areas mentioned above.
• Establish and foster credibility with our clients by constantly improving your knowledge of the Bloomberg product offering
• Be able to describe, differentiate and position the value of all of our offerings
• Anticipate client needs, build relationships, and adapt your sales approach
You’ll need to have:
• Sell-side and/or buy-side experience in or selling within the financial markets (specific asset class knowledge preferred)
• Proven consultative sales skills, including: competitive market research, lead generation, prospecting, business development, and closing sales
• Strong understanding of the terminal and the array of ancillary products we have
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex sales engagements concurrently
• Experience in building and maintaining client relationships both externally and internally
• A willingness to travel
Ideally you will be located in South Africa, however to be fully equal, and to ensure we can attract an array of talent we would also consider strong applicants who have reasons for not being able to permanently relocate to Johannesburg or Cape Town.
