Job Purpose
• To work closely with Portfolio Managers, Product Managers and International Professional Development Manager and Pearson Qualification Services teams to support delivery of a best-in-class customer experience through the training and professional development events, free surround and additional services throughout the qualification lifecycle
• Take a lead in the organisation of meetings and other activities in accordance with the international qualification governance model and product lifecycle stages for UK and international qualifications to ensure effective communication on products and services and progress
• To contribute to successful delivery of the portfolio strategy for our international academic qualifications offer that will deliver growth, in conjunction with our regional partners
• To be the department lead on business change where required, e.g. implementation of business systems and ways of working.
Key Accountabilities
International Portfolio Management Support
• Support the Portfolio Managers with the product lifecycle for international academic qualifications from scoping through to the review and evaluation of the qualifications.
• Work with Portfolio/Product Managers and International Professional Development Manager to create academic training schedule to meet international customer needs and support wider integrated propositions.
• Work with Training for Pearson and regional sales teams to ensure our training events are fully supported by high quality and relevant materials, that events effectively promoted and that they are delivered successfully and on-time to international customers.
• Act as main point of contact for international sales teams across product suites within the portfolio and, in conjunction with Portfolio Managers and Global Marketing team, ensure developments are communicated effectively.
• Respond and share product related enquires and market intelligence from sales teams and international customers (including event feedback) and use this to support enhancement of the overall product proposition.
• Organise and participate in meetings to support the governance of PQI academic qualifications, including Product Champion meetings, Edexcel Forum and Integrated Proposition meeting, taking a lead to ensure actions are followed up and risks and issues accurately reported.
• Act as liaison between regional sales teams and the UK teams in Pearson Qualification Services to support the customer experience and contribute to the process of improving systems and process.
• Organise and participate in regular product training for sales teams and, when necessary, key customers, on individual products and product suites within the academic portfolio.
• Ensure all product related documentation and sales resources are updated to reflect on-going changes to products and are accessible to centres and learners.
Project Management
• Proactive approach to planning and management of workload according to agreed timelines, seeking help when prioritisation across portfolios is required.
• On time coordination and circulation of meeting actions and reporting of risks and issues.
• Ensure portfolio spend is within allocated budget and issues raised where necessary.
• A flexible approach to work and ability to use own initiative as well as work as part of a team.
• Ability to work well under pressure and achieve strict deadlines.
Systems, Workflows and Processes
• A willingness to learn, use and become proficient in new systems and databases.
• Act as champion / super user for new business systems (e.g. iProcurement, Fusion, myFinOps) including answer queries, provide relevant information, advocate training, provide demos, raise queries on behalf of team etc.
• Support team with all stages of supplier and External Stakeholder Advisory Group (ESAG) payment and contracts as required using the appropriate systems.
• Facilitate web-meeting systems e.g. Citrix for Edexcel Forum.
Communication
• Communication to internal and external stakeholders is appropriate, timely and in line with Pearson values.
• Professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
Finance and Contracts
• Process new vendor requests and raise Purchase Order (PO) requisitions in Oracle on behalf of Product/Portfolio Managers.
• Assist Portfolio and Product Management teams to contract work, tracking and sending contracts as required, on behalf of teams for international and UK qualifications as required.
• Receipt goods or services in Oracle on instruction of Product/Portfolio Managers as required.
• Track supplier payments and alert Product/Portfolio Managers to any invoices blocked due to overspend against PO.
• Work with supplier accounts teams to help ensure timely payments of invoices by advising on systems, workflows, information required on invoices (e.g. PO number).
• Maintain project/portfolio budget tracking for teams as required.
Other support
• Support team with a range of administrative tasks linked to Edexcel brands and services.
• Assist with room booking and set-up of conference/web-meeting facilities where required.
• Management of new starter/leaver requirements, including IT account and systems set up, equipment and desk requirements.
• Administration of research activity e.g. organising incentives, posting content.
• Assist with organisation of international delegations/ visits/ focus groups or school visits as required.
• Data and document management, including:
◦ Regular and adhoc reporting requirements from company databases
◦ Maintaining internal and external contact and communication lists
◦ Assisting with data collection, monitoring and analysis to track performance against retention and new business targets, and supporting any follow up tasks
◦ Uploading new documents onto the website
◦ Maintaining filing systems (online and offline) as required.
Qualifications
Previous Experience / Knowledge
Essential:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Project management experience
• High level of attention to detail
• Pragmatic and commercial approach to work
• Able to work collaboratively and effectively within a matrix structure
• An understanding, or willingness to learn about, the international schools market
Desirable:
• Track record in providing product support to field based sales teams and key clients
Systems, Tools & IT Literacy
Essential:
• Competent in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable:
• Google Drive, Oracle, Citrix
Education, Qualifications & Training
Desirable:
• Degree or equivalent
