Role Summary
The Facilities Coordinator provides mail services to the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Boston location. Mail must be sorted and distributed every morning. Mail, UPS and other priority packages must be prepared on a daily basis to be sent out every evening. Daily tracking and monitoring of packages and charges is important for reporting purposes. This position is also responsible for monitoring and maintenance of mailroom equipment as well as a thorough understanding of its operations. Office/cubes and furniture moves are a completed on a regular basis.
Primary Accountabilities:
Mail Preparation:
Specifically helping with the preparation and processing of bulk mailing projects.
Priority Package Preparation:
All priority packages are received, delivered, prepared for shipping and all necessary tracking information is captured.
Furniture/office/cube space moves:
Specifically moving equipment, bookcases, product and furniture for employees on a regular basis, as well as installation, breakdown and reconfiguration of modular furniture. As well as changing florescent bulbs and other miscellaneous jobs, as needed.
Frequently assists office services supervisor with miscellaneous jobs. Helps maintain the supplies and record keeping for the mailroom, Maintain copier supplies, and perform basic trouble shooting of copier equipment.
Print Center Assistance:
Assist the Print Center Operator with print order requests as needed.
This position will be interacting with all employees. Maintaining strong and courteous working relationships with all other staff members is very important. Assistance to Boston location staff as needed in a helpful and respectful manner.
Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Motivated, team player attitude.
Strong customer service and communications skills.
Task oriented and pro-active individual.
Driver license needed.
Mail room experience needed.
Power tool experience required, e.g. power drill, hammer, and screwdriver.
Preferred:
Experience with UPS and USPS preferred.
Copy Center experience operating high production copiers.
MAC and PC proficient.
Imaging and graphics experience preferred.
Physical requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to regularly lift 35-50 lbs.
