Job Summary:
Manages the day to day operations of the NY1 facility, bureaus and production infrastructure. This role also manages production operations and the engineering and field operations departments. In this role the Sr Director will work closely with the Editorial Department on news initiatives and provide the necessary support to achieve NY1 News and long form production objectives.
Job Duties:
• Establishes an appropriate organizational structure required to accomplish objectives.
• Determines staffing levels and capabilities required to deliver services.
• Establishes appropriate training as well as development/mentoring programs required to effectively deliver service levels.
• Develops an overall strategic plan to deliver support services.
• Reviews existing processes to enhance them for efficiencies.
• Establishes procedures to facilitate smooth operation of all support systems.
• Reviews current technology infrastructure to determine where additional tools are required for the efficient user support.
• Manages technology vendors to provide services as required.
• Works with Directors to develop and enhance new and current technologies
• The Operations Director is responsible for overall daily management, long-term strategic planning and execution of all technical and news production projects.
• Works closely with the VP/GM on technical needs, expansion, capital projects, customer product quality and internal client service.
• The Sr. Director of Operations establishes and builds relationships with Time Warner Cable Regional IT and Engineering management, as well as with peers across the Spectrum Networks Group
• Responsibilities to manage capital and operating budgets
• The ability to present operations and technical plans to both technical and non-technical individuals
Education:
Degree in Communications from a four year university
Experience:
Five years of operations, engineering or broadcast management experience.
