Telemundo Station Group, part of the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division of NBCUniversal, is comprised of 17 local television stations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Responsibilities
WSNS-TV, Telemundo Chicago, is a Spanish language TV station in one of the top markets in the country. We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and resourceful News Reporter with excellent writing and reporting skills to provide news for all the station’s content platforms and special programs.
Responsibilities:
Gather news information and prepare accurate news reports for broadcasts, on line and social media
Write news stories on a daily basis for station’s newscasts, recorded programs and/or other live station broadcasts – either in the studio or out on location
Work directly with news producers and assignment editors on story ideas and development
Present completed news stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced while meeting on-air deadlines
Report live during newscasts and breaking news as needed, either in studio or out in the field
Develop on-going sweeps and special series stories
Builds relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads
Represent Telemundo in community related events
Contribute content to all digital platforms
Coordinate, organize, conduct and video-record interviews with a 270 digital camera and edit package for air as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
B.A. in Journalism or related field
Minimum 3 years of TV reporting, writing, and live reporting experience
Proven story-telling skills
Excellent Spanish writing and speaking skills
Solid English language skills
Minimum 2 years of live reporting experience
Proven ability to perform under tight time deadlines
Willing and able to work weekends, cover other shifts and breaking news as asked

Must be willing to work in the Chicago area
Must be willing and able to work extended hours, varying shifts (including nights, weekends and holidays) and report to work in emergencies depending upon news coverage when required
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be completely fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume
