Job Title VR Photographer/Editor Temporary
The Photographer/Editor shoots and edits video of various news events and edits tape of stories/pictures for daily news broadcasts. This position shoots stories in a compelling and brand-focused way to attract the largest audience available to the station’s newscasts. This position coordinates photography hardware setup, operation and maintenance as required. The Editor/Photographer coordinates with the production of photography and distribution of digital content as required by photographer. In addition, this position:
• Edits News shows as needed
• Handles photography assignments.
• Completes photography assignments including, but not limited to, shooting and editing.
50% - Functions as photojournalist- shoots, edits, and archives daily general assignments and spot news stories.
25% - Maintains working knowledge of AVID software.
10% -Drives a news vehicle.
10% -Sets-up and operates ENG truck as assigned with complete knowledge of live truck safety procedures and issues.
5% -Processes documentation and digital images for import to Meredith Archive Library
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
One year of full time experience as a photographer/photojournalist or work experience in creative arts for a media company is strongly preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess a valid CT Driver’s License and good driving record.
Ability to operate microwave and satellite vehicles and equipment.
Ability to lift and carry 65-100 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Must have excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast paced live, late breaking newsroom environment.
