Overview and Responsibilities
MTV is looking for a creative Community Management Coordinatorfor the Social Media and Fan Engagement team to help grow and engage MTV’s huge social media audience in support of brand priorities. This role will be responsible for the execution of daily original social content and fan engagement across all MTV’s brand social channels as well as social marketing and content distribution campaigns in support of MTV’s linear series, MTV News, and our biggest events each year, including the MTV Movie Awards and Video Music Awards.
We’re looking for someone who eats, sleeps, breathes, and tweets pop culture and music. You get MTV's voice and sensibility and know how to elevate it. You understand community behavior and how it differs from platform-to-platform. You follow the best people on Instagram, but don’t call them influencers. You haven’t been able to take off your Snapchat Spectacles since you got them. And you’re not afraid of making a few Musical.lys now and again.
This role reports to the Senior Director, Social Media and Fan Engagement, and will work closely and collaboratively with our Consumer Marketing, Events, Research, Music & Talent, and Integrated Marketing teams in support of all MTV priorities.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Working with team to distribute day-to-day content on MTV’s brand social media platforms, with a particular focus on growing platform presences and engagement on content-specific priority platforms (Snapchat, Musical.ly, Instagram)
• Contributing to topical pieces of content (photos, short video, designed assets) to live on MTV social accounts
• Keeping on top of industry trends and competitor campaigns
• Pitching and executing platform-specific social media franchise ideas and takeovers
• Supporting team with platform research, scheduling, and posting on a variety of platforms
• Contributing to development and execution of integrated sponsorship opportunities across social platforms with Integrated Marketing team
• Supporting team during tent pole events, and brand initiatives; including The MTV Movie Awards, The VMAs, the Woodies, and coverage of third party events
• Weekend and off-hour availability when needed
Basic Qualifications
• 1-2 years experience with community management and fan engagement at a media/entertainment company, brand, or agency (Strong internship accepted)
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong knowledge of MTV brand and franchises
• Daily use and extensive knowledge of all major social networks

Additional Qualifications
• College degree preferred
• Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
