Responsibilities
The Director of Production will be responsible for managing all details associated with projects in pre-production, production and post-production. He/She will interface with every department at the network as well as third party production companies. This position reports directly to the SVP, Production.
Duties:
•Works closely with Creative Executives to manage every aspect of production from development to series.
•Responsible for managing series budgets, production schedules and post schedules to ensure series stay on budget and hit their premiere dates.
•Knowledge of post-production, setting up and facilitating all aspects of digital air master deliveries, QCs and electronic wrap binder deliverables.
•Manages internal financial tracker on the West Coast, reviews cost reports, approves payments to prod co’s, keeps track of option dates for financial planning.
•Responsible for regular written communication with the Finance Dept regarding pay schedules and invoices.
•Works closely with Business Affairs, Risk Management, Insurance, Diligence and Legal Affairs to make sure that each show is complying with network requirements.
•Manages the credits approval process from Creative, Legal, Business Affairs, and Labor to make sure that all contractual guidelines are accurate.
•Works with all other network departments who need materials from production to market shows such as On-Air Promos, Social, Digital, Press, etc.
•Maintains network tech specs by regularly communicating with each department who requires materials from third party prod cos and makes sure the info is up to date.
Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelor’s Degree required
•Minimum 7-10 years experience in production, with specific experience in unscripted programming including field, in-studio, docu, game, talk, etc.
•Knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting, Microsoft Office and Calendar Program.
•Must have previous experience with at least two out of three of the following production jobs; network experience, in field production experience or production company experience.
