CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. DESCRIPTION:
This leadership position requires the ability to manage broadcast technology infrastructure of KPIX & KBCW for maximum performance of signal distribution on broadcast and IP delivery platforms. Broadcast Operations Manager will supervise engineering maintenance staff, determine project priorities and lead integration of new systems and technologies. Maintain and update broadcast standard operating procedures and systems documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Degree or equivalent experience in television engineering, broadcasting, computer science or related field required. Proficient with broadcast TV encoders, transmitters and standards, RF operation and repair, Statmon or similar remote control systems, automation systems, CompuSat, Telestream, Pitchblue, various audio and video production equipment and have good working knowledge of TV station operations. Fundamental knowledge of satellite communications, video servers and various file formats. Understand the use and interpretation of monitoring equipment (CALM, Closed Captioning, modulation monitors, audio phase monitors, EAS equipment). In addition, the successful candidate will possess the ability, leadership, willingness, drive, and initiative to:
• Complete all tasks accurately and on time,
• Successfully collaborate and interact with colleagues/station staff
• Assume personal responsibility for desired goals
3-5 years experience working in Broadcast Engineering Management position. Four years college or equivalent education. Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform a variety of tasks that may require sitting or standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, light lifting and carrying. Adequate eyesight and hearing are also a requirement.
