Background Information
A Content Production Manager is responsible for the production of assessment related content for Pearson Qualifications.
Purpose
To be responsible for the management and production of a specified set of secure assessment related content. This content can include: question papers, mark schemes, pre-release materials, onscreen tests, OSCA, sample assessment materials and exemplar materials.
To be responsible for ensuring that error-free assessment content is produced which is delivered to deadline, meets defined quality criteria which is compliant with the OfQual Code of Practice and equivalent standards.
Key Accountabilities
Content Production: to manage and facilitate the completion of all tasks related to the production of assessment content. This involves the end-to end process responsibilities from commissioning and contracting Assessment Associates through to ensuring the assessment content can be distributed to centres.
Quality Management: to understand, and to operate within the agreed assessment content production Quality Plan, ensuring the procedures are followed by everyone involved in the production process. Facilitate and support successful Question Paper Evaluation Committee (QPEC) or Test Review meetings.
Project Management: to regularly review the status of own content production responsibilities. To implement both necessary and innovative measures to ensure all materials meet the agreed time and quality criteria. To escalate issues and risks to the Operations Manager to ensure solutions are found and the materials are completed to deadline.
Relationship Management: to build and maintain effective relationships with the relevant Assessment Associates and internal stakeholders such as the assessment teams to facilitate a successful production process. Ensure that all relationships are managed with excellent customer service at the forefront of the relationship. To be the Assessment Associates’ primary contact for assessment content production, ensuring they are aware of what is expected of them and that they have the necessary resources and support to ensure agreed outcomes and deadlines are achieved.
Document Management: to manage all the documentation relating to the production process ensuring version control is updated, the total security of all materials is maintained and that the electronic and paper filing systems are in good order and that they follow agreed procedures. Provide accurate management information to the Content Production Services management team.
Production Development: to continuously review and update the methods and processes used to produce the assessment materials. To ensure that they are fit-for–purpose and that technological advances such as computer based testing and item banking can be facilitated and maximised. To proactively manage change within the production process ensuring that the changes are embedded into the process as quickly and as effectively as possible.

Managing secure materials during a period of change eg GCSE re-development programme or specification change.
Influencing and working closely with Assessment Associates and colleagues in Assessment.
Simultaneously managing multiple assessments at different stages of the production process.
Working with multiple stakeholders both across the business and externally.
Prepared to be open to the need for the role to evolve to meet new deadlines and objectives as the business’ goals and targets change.
