Internship Summary
This internship opportunity is tailored for individuals who have an interest in sports television entertainment offering them a behind-the-scenes look at Spectrum’s three 24/7 regional sports networks. Candidates for this position should be highly motivated, self-starters, have a great attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges every day.
Internships at Spectrum Sports will include hands-on operational experience and leadership development opportunities.
Spectrum SportsNet/SNLA Production Intern – Hands-On Operational Duties
• Assist managers and production staff to prepare and create original, in-studio, episodic, and digital content
• Search, organize and prepare clip media for Regional Sports Network producers and outside production companies as needed
• Assist producers with gathering and logging footage including live games, interviews and game melts
• Help gather b-roll and distribute media notes
• Assist live event coordinators with general production needs
• Help in clipping off and uploading videos for viewing links
• Help with copying, archiving and transcoding footage
• Provide quality control by screening programs and providing accurate run-sheets as required
• Administer archive media and electronic library by working with editors and production staff to back-up produced material
• Create logs for all media
• Provide support in the control room or other locations during remote events and/or studio productions as a media coordinator or other role as requested
• High performing interns may also be given opportunities to produce in the field, attend practices and press conferences, as well as support live game productions
• Assist producers with research
• Provide story ideas for in-studio and original programming shows/segments
• Possibility to assist with off-site events/planning
• Other duties as assigned, all on a rotating basis between Original Programming, Studio Production and Remote Production
Qualifications
• Must have had at least one semester of previous internship/work experience in the field of sports production
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Flexible during times of change
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients and other departments
• Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be willing and able to learn, understand, share knowledge and grow with the business
• Must have good general knowledge of the LA Dodgers/MLB, LA Lakers/NBA, LA Galaxy/MLS and LA Sparks/WNBA
• Availability to work weekend events and games is required. Notice in such instances will be provided in advance and schedules arranged accordingly.

Internships are paid at a rate of $10.50 per hour.
Must be available, if selected, to participate in following internship program:
• May 30, 2017 – Aug 25, 2017
Internship will be 32-40 hours a week, including weekends.

Work Conditions
• Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time
• Moving boxes, equipment and other materials for marketing and promotional events
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
