Job Description
Verizon Digital Media has an internship opportunity for students interested in IT careers focused on software product development specifically automation of operational and testing tasks. The role will primarily leverage programming skills to apply to automation of software testing and explore the domain of Video Content Management System, as part of a DevOps team in AOL Dulles campus. As part of DevOps, the scope may also include additional automation tasks such as scripting.
The role requires hands-on programming, primarily on front-end ( Javascript/ Protractor) or back-end (Python, shell scripts, Javascript etc). The environments may include linux, Windows and/or AWS as well as Docker. The role requires an ability to work inside DevOps team, collaborate with team members as well as other teams, mainly Development and Operational teams as needed to gather/verify requirements. The work done will contribute to automation of tasks, and test cases.

Requirements
Must currently be enrolled in coursework with an accredited university or college.
Rigorous course work in Computer Science or Engineering, experience in developing software and apps, and ability to work in Linux Windows or AWS environments. Experience performing software testing and test automation is desirable.
Experience with test automation, and application software testing application software based on Open source/ Javascript/Python/Java/SQL/RESTFul paradigm, servers and database software (both SQL and no-SQL) in a large scale environment, with agile development, and continuous integration environments, with test driven development is desired.
Qualifications
1. DevOps focused experience, with experience in developing automated testing in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environments.
2. Experience with automation testing using Selenium Webdriver (with Java), Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, Jenkins, Maven, Git.
3. Experience using functional web testing and debugging tools such as Firebug, SoapUI, Charles HTTP Proxy, jQuery etc.
4. Familiarity working on AWS, Docker and Cloud based environments.
5. Experience in collaboration tools such as Jira/Confluence
6. Familiarity with command line and SQL scripting, including bash and shell scripting desired.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player.
8. Experience with Agile development/ Kanban processes, and be able to represent team with peer teams and management. Develop reports, dashboards.
9. Familiarity with Video CMS and large scale content management, and publishing environments.
