DESCRIPTION:
CBS Corporation is seeking a Director of Affiliate Relations to join our team in Los Angeles. In addition to negotiating and enforcing assorted network affiliation agreements, the qualified candidate will be responsible for advancing Network and Affiliate communications and initiatives by interacting with approximately sixty CBS Affiliate General Managers and General Sales Managers from various DMA’s on a weekly basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years management at a network affiliated broadcast television station or 7+ years affiliate relationship management at a broadcast television network.
• Ability to identify actionable opportunities and effectuate change on an individual market basis in all areas of the television station to achieve maximum value for CBS and Affiliate.
• Aptitude to provide immediate direction on issues and challenges related to breaking news, sports, satellite issues, formats, LIVE Programming, closed captioning, preemptions, kids’ programming, quarterly reports, sales, entertainment program strategy, scheduling, research, etc.
• Proven track record of formulating and executing turn-key local revenue generating programs.
• Detailed knowledge and perspective on the broadcast television industry with a strong understanding of affiliate/distribution agreements
• Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
• Exceptional presentation and negotiating skills necessary to work through complicated, intricate legal business language
• Demonstrate, successful experience in affiliate relationship management, sales and marketing
PC based information systems knowledge required including proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Word. Travel required.
