Pearson, the world's leading learning company, is currently seeking a Statistical Analyst to support our Clinical Assessment division. We are particularly noted for our gold-standard assessment contributions in cognitive/ability, memory, neuropsychology, behavior, personality/psychopathology, achievement and speech/language. Noted brands include the Wechsler and Kaufman families of products, MMPI, BASC, OLSAT, CELF, and PLS. We're also revolutionizing clinical assessment through our innovative digital assessment platform, Q-interactive.
The Statistical Analyst will assist psychometricians in conducting statistical analysis needed for the research and development of clinical instruments, such as intelligence tests, language ability tests, personality tests, or achievement tests.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist psychometrician in reviewing data entry specification, variable names, and table mockup, as well as in drafting data analysis specification.
• Data clean-up, data preparation, computer scoring, identify and predict missing data, outlier checking.
• Conduct data analysis, such as classic and IRT item analysis, bias analysis, distracter analysis, logistic regression, reliability and validity analysis, factor analysis, equating and vertical scaling, norms development, etc.
• Prepare tables, graphs, or charts for test manual.
• Conduct quality assurance for tables and data analysis results.
• Write the SAS scoring code and create MTCF for Q-Global.
• Archive data and handle data request from authors or customers.
Qualifications
• B.A. or M.A. degree related to the following areas: statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, psychological assessment, psychology, or educational assessment.
• Understand basic concepts and methods of statistics and research design.
• Experience with data analysis in test development preferred
• Fluent with SAS - At least two years experience with data analysis using SAS. Must have fluent SAS macro skills.
• Familiar with other statistical or software packages, and programming languages such as: SPSS, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
