DESCRIPTION:
CBS Radio Atlanta is looking for a Market Controller to oversee the market’s financial operations. The Market Controller has overall responsibility and management of the market’s financial operations and oversees the business office and traffic department of the cluster. CBS Radio in Atlanta consists of a cluster of three radio stations in the market, including WVEE-FM (V103), WZGC-FM (92.9 The Game), and WAOK-AM (News & Talk 1380). This position reports directly to the Senior VP/Market Manager of Atlanta and to CBS Radio Corporate Finance.
Responsibilities will include overseeing all accounting processes, preparation/reporting of monthly financial statements, developing monthly forecasts and annual budgets, and administering SOX compliance. In addition, this person will implement accounting and internal control policies and guidelines, as well as help to develop operational strategies for the cluster, including credit and collections. Strong financial and analytical skills are a must for the Market Controller along with outstanding organizational skills to effectively track and monitor sales trends, expenses, and other P&L issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of accounting experience in radio or the media industry is required. Candidates must have strong communication skills to effectively interact on a regular basis with entire market and corporate management, strong Excel skills and Oracle accounting system experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and sound financial and accounting practices is required. Prior management experience and a 4 year degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA desirable. Requires strong leadership skills, ability to manage daily team operations, the ability to delegate effectively and support the team in production and direction.
