About This Position:
The Marketing Specialist, Email and Content, reporting to the Director of Marketing, will be responsible for the execution of Foursquare City Guide and Foursquare Swarm email marketing communications from setup, to testing, to launch, to post deployment analysis, and to optimization. This role will also focus on content creation, supporting the many consumer touch points for both of our apps. The role will work closely with our Marketing and Technology teams, as well as our external design agency, in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. The ideal candidate should be passionate about driving innovation and performance, have a positive attitude, be detail oriented, results driven, and a dependable team player.
Responsibilities:
◦ Develop and maintain forward-thinking email calendar for both our City Guide and Swarm apps, including concept, content, and audience information
◦ Daily execution of email campaigns including concepting, setup, testing, deployment, and post campaign analysis
◦ Manage our external design agency to bring to life our email concepts in a visually engaging way
◦ Analyze and report on campaign results and user behavior to identify opportunities to improve engagement, and support overall email strategy
◦ Work with team to brainstorm ways to optimize of key metrics including CTR, open rates, conversion, and retention
◦ Ideate and create strategic content and infographics for our consumer apps and emails
◦ Be a master at creating Foursquare City Guide lists
◦ Assist in ideation and development of strategic content for social media
Qualifications:
◦ 2+ years relevant experience with email or content marketing
◦ Experience with an email service provider (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Cheetahmail, or Sailthru experience is a plus!)
◦ Proficiency, or at minimum familiarity in HTML
◦ Exceptional attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize projects effectively to meet deadlines
◦ Ability to champion ideas and execute in an expedited timeframe
◦ An ability to think strategically and execute methodically
◦ Strong verbal and written communications skills
◦ Strong analytic and quantitative skills to support interpretation of KPIs and making program recommendations
◦ Strong copywriting skills
◦ A history of teamwork and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
◦ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant areas
