Who We Are:
The Twitter Employee Communications and Culture team is seeking an experienced communications pro to lead critical internal communications functions. The overarching goal of this team is to promote Twitter’s mission, product goals and organizational happenings in compelling ways. You’ll work closely with Twitter leadership and the Corporate Communications team as well as with Product, Engineering, HR, Workplace, and other key partners around the globe. The position is based at Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco with periodic travel.
Who You Are:
In addition to great strategic thinking chops, the successful candidate must be an excellent writer, detail oriented and skilled at managing executive relationships globally. We are looking for someone who has extensive and demonstrable experience with content strategy as well as change and crisis management.
What You’ll Do:
• Refine comprehensive global employee communications strategies
• Oversee day-to-day management of employee communications team
• Develop and execute on content strategy
• Act as lead writer on executive communications
• Coordinate and liaise with global employee communication team
• Cultivate and influence relationships with internal business partners
• Lead content strategy and editorial plans for internal channels
• Drive new approaches to deliver communications in more efficient and effective ways by challenging processes and recommending new approaches
• Develop messaging for topics including policy, culture, initiatives and other areas
• Write speech, messages or presentations for leaders to their organizations or the entire company
• Ensure consistency between internal and external communications
• Partner with key stakeholders in HR, Inclusion & Diversity, Workplace, M&A, Marketing, Revenue & Partnerships, and other departments as needed to understand upcoming initiatives and/or changes; develop integrated communications plans, then execute. Includes drafting key messaging, FAQs, talk tracks and other support materials
• Provide input on messaging and positioning, and influence stakeholders as needed to ensure communications are compelling and aligned
Requirements:
• 10+ years of work experience in marketing, communications or a related discipline; experience in a global high tech or other fast-paced, disruptive environment a plus
• Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline
• A brilliant verbal communicator and highly creative writer experienced in crafting compelling messaging and narratives; can generate and execute "breakout" ideas
• Proven track record developing and executing creative employee communications plans
• Proven track record in coaching and advising executives on their communications
• Ability to quickly grasp information across a variety of disciplines and create clear communications
• Ability to lead, manage and execute multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented and nimble environment
• A strategic thinker with the ability to successfully drive short-term and long-term initiatives with minimal guidance and to re-prioritize on the fly
• Dynamic, charismatic, confident communicator with proven ability to work cross-functionally, exerting influence without direct authority
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
