The Director of Advertising Sales is responsible for meeting individual advertising goals, maintaining and growing existing accounts and actively prospecting for and developing new business for all CQ-RC print, online, events and marketing services offerings. They are also tasked with collaborating effectively with sales colleagues on multiple shared accounts in the US.
Accountabilities:
In the role you would be expected to:
• Consistently meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals
• Maintaining and developing relationships with current advertisers
• Identifying new sales opportunities and building new relationships
• Conducting a minimum of five (5) in-person sales calls per week
• Maintaining a steady stream of outgoing emails and phone calls to prospects per week (minimum of 100)
• Maintaining & submitting detailed weekly pipeline reports on time
• Understanding customer’s needs/objectives and presenting multi-faceted solutions using all products in the CQRC portfolio
• Staying informed on spending trends within the market and competitive products/media offerings
• Following current legislation and keeping up with key industry players
• Creating and delivering strong group presentations highlighting CQRC's value proposition and integrated advertising & engagement offering
• Creating effective sales correspondence (email) to generate customer interest in special opportunities throughout the year
• Completing client RFPs with competitive bids and meeting stated deadlines
• Working cooperatively and effectively on shared (split) accounts
• Working efficiently with sales assistants so they can provide the highest quality account support & customer service
• Handling contracts, insertions orders, information requests and materials in a timely and accurate manner
Experience, skills and professional attributes:
To succeed in the role you must have:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years advertising or media sales experience
• Strong sponsored content experience
• Strong computer skills - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently and on short notice (25% travel required)
• Proven track record in advertising or media sales
