The Product Planning, Development, and Marketing Group includes all the functional areas that work together to develop instructional materials that meet current pedagogical and market needs for PreK-12. Content is developed for a wide range of media formats, including interactive digital media as well as print. Colleagues within PDM have varying expertise including the following: subject-matter expertise across all academic subject areas, design, art and photo management, production management, quality assurance, content engineering, and permissions and licensing.

To this end, HMH is looking for a Content Marketing Strategist. As a Content Strategist on our newly organized Content Marketing team, you’ll develop content marketing and copywriting efforts across HMH’s K-12 business, helping to build upon HMH’s strong reputation as a leader in the education market and drive leads for core, intervention, and services businesses.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develops content marketing campaigns and content marketing to support K-12 campaigns based on a deep understanding of audience, message, business objective, market research, and product positioning.
• Nurtures and writes content from lead generation through conversion with blogs, webinars, emails, website, social media content, etc.
• Collaborates with product marketing, and corporate communication teams to ensure that copy complement marketing goals.
• Maintains his or her content marketing schedules for assigned campaigns, including writing and design efforts.
• Coordinates with Account Managers and the design team to facilitate the execution of content marketing pieces that require visual storytelling.
• Requests metrics from the Senior Content Marketing Strategist to track KPIs and use results for future planning.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 3+ years in content strategy; an editorial or marketing communications background preferred
• Superb writing, communication & presentation skills
• Experience marketing B2B solutions (education publishing industry preferred)
• Strong cross-functional, project management skills
• Creative thinker able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Deep understanding of content channels, as well as their associated audiences and platform limitations
• Well versed in all content types including, but not limited to: short-form social posts, long-form content marketing pieces, videos, and visual storytelling through graphics and photos
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
