Job Description
The VCMS Intern is responsible for helping the Operations team for the Fios Video on Demand service including by not limited to…reviewing and reconciling content mismatch reports, evaluating the accuracy of digital assets, tracking performance of content across different platforms, publish verification, researching box office data, modifying metadata and assisting with asset tracking, reporting and performance data.
Intern will work on ways to automate the process for tracking, monitoring and executing avails in a timely manner. The intern will work on finding a way to measure on-time availability and reduce potential for errors and/or rework. This will require regular contact with movie studios and episodic content providers as well as internal teams/customers for VCMS.
This role accepts that external priorities can change rapidly, and is able to shift responsibilities and operations without stress or resistance, constantly seeking to improve efficiency and quality of technical operations.
• Support testing and evaluation of new customer deployments and new product launches
• Help test, troubleshoot and provide overall operations support for VOD services.
• Utilize specialized content monitoring tools to evaluate and diagnose problems with content related to video, audio and technical composition
• Provide thorough, detailed, clear and concise written documentation
• Publish verification of special promotions and rental offers
• Research box office values for new releases
• Help create reports used to reflect performance and opportunities for improvement
• Submit regular status updates and reports to a supervisor. Some understanding of how to create reports and use them to recommend action to achieve improvement is beneficial but not required.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Skills
• Visual and audio capabilities or course experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft or Google spreadsheets and word processing applications
• Strong customer relationship management skills
• Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking, self-directed; with proven ability to prioritize tasks
• Problem-solving skills and ability to offer multiple solutions to technical and operational problems and challenges
• Strong organizational skills a must
• This position is part of a small, integral group and is able to work both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. The intern is expected to show initiative.
Experience
• Experience with broadcast/digital media industry, post production services, file standards and emerging technologies preferred.
• Education and/or experience in areas of business reporting, IT or broadcast / digital content production or management.
