Job Description
ONE by AOL is looking for a stellar Product Marketing Manager who is passionate about helping our publishers and content creators succeed in monetization using ONE by AOL: Publishers technology and expertise. The Senior Manager will approach this role with a video-first perspective and develop deep understanding of the multi-channel publisher and broadcaster audiences.
As part of the programmatic product marketing team, your primary responsibility will be developing and executing from start to finish global Go To Market plans for new releases and solutions. The ideal candidate is a self starter with experience with marketing technology products, preferably those within the advertising landscape. S/he understands ad technology and marketing technology competitive landscape and trends. S/he has demonstrated partnering with a variety of stakeholders, from business, sales and executives to product, marketing, and business development. S/he has superb story-telling abilities for either technical or non-technical audiences and an innovative approach to scaling these stories through B2B campaigns, and can manage complex projects from strategy to execution moving at a fast pace.
Responsibilities:
● Market & Competitive Intelligence – know our target publisher audience, how they approach their inventory and audience across channels, and what they look for in a best-in-class monetization partner. Be an expert on the competition and how to outmaneuver them; keep abreast of the industry trends, the market influencers, and the general ecosystem of digital publishing, programmatic, and market research.
● Product Positioning and storytelling – define and document the product hierarchy, naming conventions, messaging, and core market differentiation for our Video Activation platform. Ensure POV is harmonious with the all-up ONE by AOL: Publishers positioning, and that narratives are consistently filtered through all channels of communications, internal & external (e.g. sales materials, website, PR & Analyst briefings, etc.) and develop creative ideas to tell the product story to the market.
● Client-First Content Generation – Deliver high-quality product and thought leadership materials geared directly to our client base, including blog articles, whitepapers, eBooks, videos, websites. Take point on spearheading campaigns to amplify this content in collaboration with other marketing teams (and how to scale these POVs through client meetings, industry speaking engagements, etc)
● Sales Enablement – ensure sales clearly understands and is able to articulate product positioning and differentiators; deliver tools that support sales enablement such as collateral (one-sheets, sales decks, case studies etc), and structured sales training. Support sales cycles with unique messaging and content as needed.
● GTM Strategy & Product Launches – manage and execute on GTM strategy for relevant data product portfolio, including new product launches and major releases. This role will own the GTM for Video Activation and play a crucial role in GTMs for other products within the ONE by AOL: Publishers suite.
● Demand Generation – support marketing team on lead generation activities, including trade shows, email campaigns, hosted events, etc., with messaging, collateral and follow up sales materials.
● Be a Publisher Evangelist – be an advocate (both internally and externally) for AOL/Verizon’s commitment to its publisher client base. Be the voice of the business as a publisher-first technology company in analyst briefings, internal communications and by educating the rest of the organization about the needs of our publisher audience and their strategic value to AOL/Verizon.
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree or higher; MBA ideal
• 5 + years professional experience in Marketing, or Digital Ad Agency or other product marketing roles dealing with internet and/or technology (consumer or B2B)
• Experience partnering with Product Management, Enterprise Sales and Marketing/PR organizations
• Strong understanding an interest in advertising technology and the future of the industry
• Strong presentation skills, leveraging tools like MS Powerpoint, Keynote and other visual media, data visualization and design skills a plus
• Strong analytical ability, problem solving and outstanding communication skills. Comfortable communicating to multiple audiences, both technical and non-technical, in writing and verbally
• Sharp eye for detail and proven project management skills
• Keen ability to translate complexity into simple and intuitive communications and to think creatively/strategically… sometimes at the same time
