Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager has the overall responsibility for the successful independent planning and execution of Strategic projects for IT. The Project Manager will heavily partner with the delivery services, infrastructure, governance and security teams, business partners, and vendors to define, develop, and execute deployment of their assigned strategic projects. The Senior Project Manager ensures that the deployment of projects to the production environment follow the project life cycle methodology (Primarily Agile) and successfully meets the business goals. This Senior Project Manager will have a primary focus of Commerce, Mobile applications and Web Development projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partners with the Solutions Delivery, Infrastructure, Innovation, Operations, Governance and Security teams, business partners, and Vendors to manage all aspects of the Project Lifecycle, software development lifecycle and project delivery of strategic projects. Provide continuous improvement to the Project Lifecycle Methodology and implementation of industry best practices.
• Responsible for independent delivery of strategic projects, including: planning, executing and controlling, delivery, and production transition of strategic IT projects.
• Responsible for the management of strategic projects including; work statements, work breakdown structures, developing and tracking budget and schedule, tracking individual project tasks, providing risk analysis, tracking and resolving issues and action items, requirements gathering, quality assurance, providing various project management visibility and control measures and reports as needed and communicating to project team and stakeholders.
• Partner closely with management, IT teams, business users, and vendors to monitor and lead the analysis, design, development, deployment, and training of solutions within the IT environment.
• Drive the desired business value-added results by aligning all technology investments with appropriate priorities based upon the IT strategic plan.
• Champion the implementation and acceptance of Agile project management concepts and methodology within department
• Establish partner excellence by providing excellent service and deploying successful projects which meet and exceed the business goals.
SCOPE:Follow established Project Management methodologies and provide input to improve practices. Use established project management tools to report project statuses for IT dashboards and reports. Work directly with IT management and participate in regular resource planning meetings to secure project resources.
Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Business Process Mapping, Requirements Gathering, Project LCM, Agile/Scrum, PMI, ITIL
EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. Associate’s degree (AA) is required in MIS, IT or Business. Bachelor’s degree is preferred in MIS, IT or Business.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Highly desired), SCRUM Master (Highly desired)
EXPERIENCE: 12+ Years: Experience required in Project Management or Project Leadership role, including delivery of strategic projects and best practices; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Management of standard policies and procedures within a major function and may coordinate work processes across divisions.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Works with external clients and vendors.
• Works with all levels of company management.
• Responsible for managing of change for organization adopting new PMO standards and methodology.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret spreadsheets.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Leadership and team building capabilities
• Presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Conflict resolution and problem solving techniques preferred.
• Thorough experience in the software development lifecycle to coach, guide and support other team members.
