Operations and Technical Services (O&TS) is the division that supports NBCUniversal’s full portfolio of production, broadcast and media distribution businesses for both TV and Film. Services provided include technical and on-air operations, technology development, engineering and support, R&D, and corporate services such as real estate, facilities and security.
Responsibilities
Digital product development is a key skill at NBCUniversal International and so an excellent technical knowledge to deliver and improve digital products is essential. This will enable us to showcase the best of our content, gain audience reach and future-proof our business.
We are looking for someone with commercial flair, the ability to juggle priorities and look to the future, who enjoys working collaboratively with others. You should also have a passion for TV and want to be part of the media platform revolution that is changing how users consume premium TV content globally.
Qualifications/Requirements
Responsibilities
• Day to day Product Ownership of Core Platform Product (Marketing Websites (35+) and TV Everywhere platform).
• Definition of short and medium term Roadmaps for Core Product
• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and data quality
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Define Strategy for New Product Opportunities
• Work closely with Technical, Project and Product leads to prioritise business and information needs
Experience
•In-Life and New Product Development, ideally in a TV environment
•Roadmap planning
•Backlog creation and management (ideally in a CI Environment)
•Defining KPIs for Operational initiatives and new Product deliveries (and measuring success)
•Experience in using Analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Omniture
•Data Driven, analytical decision making process
•Translating Business Goals into an actionable Strategy
•Creating User stories and Acceptance Criteria
oNice to have: Experience in BEHAT
•Agile Delivery methodologies (In particular SCRUM and Kanban)
•Making proposals to Stakeholders (of all levels!) around Product evolutions and Roadmaps
•Essential: experience working with Web, iOS and Android
oNice to have: experience working with Apple TV, SmartTV, Xbox etc
oNice to have: experience managing OTT Products with premium content
•Working collaboratively with UX and Design Teams
•Ad technology (in particular Google DFP)
Skills and Attributes
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use good judgement and work effectively with multiple departments will be beneficial
•Strong leadership and management skills combined with an entrepreneurial spirit are key attributes of the ideal candidate
•Motivated and driven, with the desire to own products and projects end-to-end
•You will need to demonstrate excellent management skills in developing and executing sophisticated online strategies, tactics, plans and programs.
•Ability to translate technical solutions to non-technical business owners
•A genuine passion for content and connecting with audiences
•Experience working within an agile environment
