Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
The Content Manager writes, edits, and oversees production of print and/or digital materials that effectively communicate, achieve client objectives, and satisfy budgetary guidelines. The position will assist the Senior Content Manager with oversight of the day-to-day activities of both the internal and freelance team as well as managing overall bodies of work as assigned. Additionally, the Content Manager should be able to help manage MXM’s relationship with the client. Preferably, the Content Manager should possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of digital publishing and will stay up to date on advances in the field and provide appropriate updates to management and the client.
Essential Job Functions| Accountabilities, Actions & Measurable Results
50% - Writes/edits effective copy approved for publication in Direct Mail, Custom Magazines, and on Web/Email (print/digital).
10% - Coordinates with Account Services to respond appropriately to, and deliver on, client requests.
10% - Manages freelancers (writers, proofers, fact checkers). Oversees hiring, work assignment and approves related invoices. Tracks invoices and spending by project.
30% - Collaborates with Designers and Associate Creative Director to ensure deliverables route on time.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum five years experience in digital field, magazine, web, marketing, or custom publishing.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (especially familiarity and comfort working in InDesign and Photoshop files) and Microsoft Office software, and using a Mac OS.
• Must possess excellent editorial judgment, strong command of grammar, and have the ability to originate or rewrite copy under tight deadlines.
• Must be able to collaborate with design team to create cohesive, thoughtful content.
• Experience with social media a plus.
