Production, by incorporating standardized systems and workflows, manages the process of producing content with good and consistent quality metadata in order to support our role as an ePublisher. This allows our global audiences to use our products through a variety of reading devices, both electronic and paper. We work with vendors that incorporate our workflows, automate processes wherever possible, follow standardized procedures and create our content in full text XML which is the essential foundation for producing materials that can be utilized in the electronic environment.
We are looking for 2 Team Leaders (m/f) for our department Book Production with following profile:
Primary duties:
Guide & support a team of project coordinators to ensure timely & high-quality book publications within the SRG framework of policies and production standards.
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
• Steer & monitor portfolio responsibilities among your team members
• Oversee day-to-day operations & control workload in the team
• Motivate team members, identify training needs and provide coaching
• Actively implement team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
• Recognize high performance & encourage creativity and risk-taking
• Create and/or update (globally relevant) workflow documentation
• Pioneer & take part in new workflow projects
• Synchronize & coordinate activities across teams & locations
• Work closely with publishing departments
Job requirements:
• Ability to work effectively in a highly complex, diverse and changing environment
• Very good command of spoken & written English and German
• Excellent communication & leadership skills
• Outstanding organizational & time-management skills
• Strong problem solving & decision-taking skills
• Priority-oriented mindset and ability to work under pressure
• In-depth knowledge of MS-office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & G-Suite (Google Cloud),
• Experience in book production & cooperating with publishing, authors & editors, and (mostly overseas/Indian) vendors
• Solid understanding of print and online publishing formats & tools (XML, HTML, ePub, LaTeX and PDF)
• Keen interest in content & process management and workflow systems and their optimization
• Certified team management skills are a plus
