Position at Corporate Technology
This is a unique opportunity to join Hearst Technology in the role of UC Director, as a specialist who will establish an enterprise class communications platform. The right candidate will use their leadership skills and experience to efficiently raise the bar of voice, video and collaboration systems used throughout our many businesses. Reporting to the Vice President of Network Services, the UC Director will ensure that there is strategic alignment between our technology and business needs, while maintaining scalable, day-to-day operational duties.
Responsibilities:
• Drive transformational initiatives to modernize Hearst’s voice and video communication platforms to meet the demands of a modern workforce.
• Continuously leverage opportunities for operational efficiencies through a thorough assessment of existing assets, capabilities and needs
• Foster a culture of that seeks to learn about the latest available technology solutions and about customer needs throughout the UC team
• Manage the cost of services and support for Hearst’s voice and video communication platforms
• Develop KPI’s and appropriate Metrics to provide strong visibility into service availability, quality, and customer satisfaction
• Provide team leadership and vision to align engineering skills to communication technology transformation across the Hearst landscape.
• Oversee Incident and service request management for communication platforms, ensuring appropriate SLA’s are upheld accordingly
Qualifications:
• 8+ years managing globally diverse Voice over IP Systems
• 8+ years managing telecommunications carriers and vendors
• Able to create and maintain an operational budget for all responsible systems
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, and other systems
• Experience with video conferencing systems
• Strong awareness of ITIL, common IT controls and frameworks
• Proven ability to stay abreast of technological changes in the field of VoIP, Video Conferencing and Collaboration tools
• S. in computer science or equivalent technical degree.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills (verbal and\or written)
