The Product Innovation Engineer will design, develop, and build software architecture, write code and develop assigned application, all in regards to brand new products or large-scale product features that do not yet exist.
Job Duties:
1. Responsible for Programming new features and updates to based on needs for research and development to innovate new technologies that will eventually become products or new features of existing products. Responsible for using many different languages, from low level to middle and high such as C, Java, javascript, html, css, sql, cfml, php, coldfusion, jQuery, node.js and cfscript.
2. Completes research for technical implications to new products features. Examines the requirements for new products / features and research best technologies, methods and practices to accomplish the build and satisfy acceptance criteria. Collaborates with Director Product and VP of Product to reach consensus on best strategy to implement new Initiatives.
3. Plans product features and designs. Uses the Scrumwise program, participates in daily meetings with Product Department which include: daily review of work, defining goals, reviewing the backlog, prioritizing features, grooming the stories, defining the acceptance criteria then assign tasks for the 2-week Sprint, review how the Sprint went and how it can be improved.
4. Utilizes latest technologies (both hardware and software), experiment to find how products and/or services can be improved, or leveraged to create new products.
5. Evaluates the requirements of an initiative. Works with Product Department to develop and build new and exciting products and features.
6. Conducts programming, testing on hardware, complete changes based on feedback from Director Product and VP of Product, submit to QA, and work with QA to resolve any defects until feature meets acceptance criteria.
7. Researches and procures newly developed products and features to a state where they can be handed off to the Engineering Scrum Teams for continuous maintenance and improvement.
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) in Computer Science
2. 5-7 years of related work experience (2 years SAAS experience)
3. Understanding of javascript, object oriented programming concepts, database systems, and web technologies plus low to mid-level programming language knowledge
4. Ability to program using php, javascript, and mysql
5. Ability to creatively resolve software issues
6. Ability to learn and problem solve
7. Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and the software development life cycle
8. Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills
10. Knowledge of node.js, web php frameworks, laravel
11. Unix and Linux knowledge
12. GIT software experience
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working on a wide range of software systems and technologies, including small and large business environment
2. Familiar with Agile work environment
3. Festival or live event experience
