The Sales Outreach Specialists' primary function is to contact non-Pearson customers and generate interest in company programs that lead to a pilot or direct sale of product. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, some general instructions on new assignments. May identify the need for improvement to existing work process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate sales leads within the assigned territory based on a list of target prospects
• Identify key decision makers
• Communicate relevant sales lead information to the territory Field Rep
• Other duties as needed in support of the Talent Lens group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• 90% Places outbound calls/sets meetings with potential customers to understand their needs. Creates proposals. Closes new business.
• 10% Maintains records of all calls made in Salesforce.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Education presents an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years experience in B2B sales. Experience in selling to Human Resources is preferred.
• Capable of spending significant time (as much as 90%) in a prospecting role.
• Basic knowledge of company's or industry products and sales practices desirable
• Must be skilled at building rapport with individuals and organizations that have no prior knowledge or contact with business and create compelling perspectives for the use or piloting of company programs.
• Ability to conduct customer presentations using tools such as WebEx or Go-To-Meeting.
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and telephone skills.
• Computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products required.
