JOB SUMMARY
The role will contribute to the engineering, design, deployment, and implementation of Charter video core systems, associated operating systems and databases. The intern will also participate in full life-cycle of systems engineering activities of high-quality, scalable solutions and work closely with Video Operations engineers in support of national deployments.
Works on assignments that will span one or more of the following areas:
• Pre-Engineering and design
• Deployment
• Operations management
• Monitoring & Reporting Analytics
• Break/Fix resolution
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works with deployment and Controller Operations Engineering team to determine needs
• Works with video operations engineers to configure and maintain network core systems
• Uses established change management processes, requiring operational procedures be performed with minimal customer impact, (i.e. during established maintenance window)
• Documents systems configurations and upgrades; updates project status.
• Works with video operatoins engineers to implement network monitoring tools and develop network reports as needed
• Generates reports on server and application availability and performance
• Monitors and assists in managing applications, device availability, network conditions and status, system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources
• Works with current templates, assists with the design and construction of new templates as deemed necessary
• Works with video operatoins engineers in problem troubleshooting
• Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
• Ability to grasp technical subjects quickly

• Self-driven with minimal supervision
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Beginner level experience in Linux or Unix
BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• MUST BE currently enrolled in a Graduate Coursework in Computer Science, Network management, Telecommunications or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
EDUCATION:
Graduate coursework in Computer Science, Network management, Telecommunications or related field.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment
No travel required
