As a Director of Digital Channel Solutions for Higher Education, you will help Pearson and our clients envision and create reliable and scalable digital content delivery solutions that increase revenue and profitability and improve the company’s competitive position in the Canadian market. Drawing on your experience and background, you are able to position technical solutions within a business context, and you are an all-rounder with knowledge of how systems can work together effectively. You will work closely with sales, production, and other operational departments to develop best practices for facilitating data and to troubleshoot issues.
Travel is required on occasion throughout the year to meet with vendors, attend US & Canadian retail conferences as well as Sales Meetings.
The Director of Digital Channel Solution report to the General Manager of the Higher Education Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital Channel Management
• Leads solution development and implementation efforts for the digital delivery of Pearson products that best address vendor and end user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and partner personnel.
• Reviews existing systems and programs used for digital content delivery and advise business stakeholders on ways to make process for efficient and employees more productive.
• Solicits product enhancement requirements from end users and present to internal stakeholders.
• Ensures partner compliance with digital partner agreements.
• Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates partner needs on an ongoing basis and
• Troubleshoots data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
• Collaborates with US and Global counterparts to as needed to facilitate communications and to ensure North American and Global partnerships can be executed locally.
• Oversees the continued development of an end-to-end implementation process for institutional direct digital delivery within Pearson Canada.
• Assists with reports and data extraction when needed.
• Sales & Customer Support
• Assist the sales teams with digital content delivery inquiries during the pre-sales and implementation phases.
• Assist the customers and internal teams with troubleshooting data related problems.
Communications
• Oversee the preparation and distribution of national channel communications including Quick Reference Guide detailing Pearson’s programs.
• Meet with the senior executives of Canadian retail chains (Follett) and associations, CCRA and CSC to facilitate conversations about trends and sales.
• Reports monthly on sales trends, opportunities and issues.
Qualifications
• Knowledge of information systems with a focus on their technical interaction.
• Prior experience working with ONIX.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
• An analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate fluently with both technical and non-technical audience.
• Positive attitude, enjoy working with others and are quick to see the bigger picture.
• Prior experience working with SalesForce.com an asset.
• Prior experience working with Digital Content Delivery an asset.
• BSc/BA in computer science, business or relevant field.
