BestProducts.com is seeking an ‘in the know’ full time producer/shooter to join its brand-spanking new social-forward video team. This person will be responsible for filming original video content in and around San Francisco for our social media platforms. They must be proficient with shooting and lighting techniques, be an expert visual storyteller, and have an eye for cutting-edge video ideas. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for products, events, places, and experiences that are unbelievable, quirky, awe-inducing – and most importantly, make followers want to say ‘look how cool this is!’ and then share with all their friends.
Responsibilities:
• Recognize and pursue video opportunities with new restaurants, events, places, and people
• Pitch, produce, and shoot original videos
• Shoot 10 videos per week, solo
• Work closely with the BestProducts.com video team and social editors to ensure videos are highly shareable and line up with Facebook goals
• Manage own filming schedule
• Tell stories viewers feel personally connected to, inspired by, or shocked by
• Develop a deep understanding of the follower’s content consumption habits
Qualifications:
• College degree or appropriate field experience
• 5+ years experience in professional digital video production
• Advanced shooting and lighting techniques
• Strong sense of lighting and shot composition
• Operate necessary camera and lighting equipment solo
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and other Creative Suite products
• Knowledge of compression standards across multiple platforms
• Creative thinker and innovator with an acute eye for engaging visual storytelling
• Obsessive knowledge of the digital video landscape and keen understanding of the competition
• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with curve balls
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
