Forbes is seeking a Multi-Platform Producer to join its editorial team in Hong Kong. This position is a key part of the company’s objective to expand its digital footprint in the APAC region. The successful candidate will be an ambitious and experienced journalist able to conceptualize and develop creative storytelling treatments across our platforms – especially in the mobile space – from video to data-driven infographics.
Main responsibilities
• Help to identify the most interesting and important stories and themes across the APAC region
• Work closely with U.S.-based colleagues – video, designers, product -- to find ever more creative ways of telling these stories – from video to interactive graphics
• Produce at least two Asia-focused pieces of video per week
• Work with social team to regularly produce high-value visual content for our audiences on social platforms we operate on in this region
• Help to develop and maintain a comprehensive editorial events calendar for APAC region
• Work on a plan to encourage new/existing contributors to develop more visual storytelling skills
Required skills/experience
• 5+ years’ experience working in a similar role for a digital publisher
• Solid news judgement and ability to develop a story, from pitch to execution, for a digital audience
• Ability to shoot and edit video – phone and DSLR
• Ability to track and understand data around video performance
• Strong understanding of social media and its relevance to finding and sharing stories
• Excellent knowledge of news and current affairs in this region an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Other Asian languages a plus
