Come join the USA TODAY NETWORK 2017 Internship Program as an IT ServicesAnalyst Intern with our Technology team. The program will last a minimum of eight weeks and offers mentoring from those at the top of their game, networking opportunities and provides real world experience in a fun, start- up like environment. Our interns are part of the team and will work on meaningful projects throughout the program and will have the opportunity to connect with other interns and engage in professional development activities supplemental to the job. This is a paid internship.
Purpose: Looking for someone in the management information systems or Information Technology track.
Over the course of this internship, you will...
• Assist with intern on-boarding / off-boarding
◦ equipment preparation, tracking, inventory management, software management
• Support the 2017 Capital PC and Mac replacement project rollout
◦ asset tag creation, moving/managing inventory, creating tickets
• Assist with Knowledge Article creation and collaboration with Technology Learning Services
• Assist with the equipment preparation and special needs planning for the following conferences (NO TRAVEL)
◦ IRE Conference 2017 – June 22-25
◦ NABJ Conference 2017 – August 9-13
◦ ONA Conference 2017 – October 5-7
• Conduct GSC Contract data entry for contracts that will be managed in one repository
• Conduct Asset Tracking – both hardware and software
• Assist with IT equipment recycling program
REQUIREMENTS
• Currently enrolled in a 4-year university getting either a bachelors or graduate degree
• Some level of customer service is preferred as you will be interacting with end users and other teams regularly
• Typing skills and keen attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
• Working knowledge / basic understanding Internet and networking
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• General knowledge of basic Mac and PC Hardware
• Familiarity with general IT peripheral equipment (monitors, USB drives, Ethernet cables, etc.)
• Ability to lift and move most IT equipment and boxes (monitors, computers, etc.)
