Summary:
The North America Campaigns Director will be accountable for US marketing campaign strategy and planning, determining what campaigns and activities most effectively meet local business objectives and drive demand at scale. It collaborates on the development of global campaigns with the Global Marketing function, and is responsible for the localization and execution of these global campaigns in the US as relevant, by working closely with the VP, US Campaigns.
This role is on-point as the marketing lead for their market, partnering with sales, product, channel, and business leaders to determine priorities, interfacing with the US Marketing teams to deliver successful campaigns, and holding overall accountability for campaign strategy, planning and development. Crucial to the role is the ability to provide valuable insights to the business that combines understanding of local market needs and business goals, and to work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure each campaign achieves defined KPIs.
Responsibilities:
• Work with sales, product, channel, business leaders, and field marketing where appropriate to establish a marketing strategy and revenue forecast.
• Establish measurable goals for marketing activity tied to strategy and revenue forecast.
• Develop the marketing budget to support activity tied to strategy and revenue forecast.
• Engage key external associations and media partners to leverage these partnerships to support marketing and sales strategy.
• Responsible for end-to-end campaign management of all US-specific campaigns using insights to inform and shape campaigns and program development.
• Works with insights, Global Performance Marketing, and OneDotCom teams to consult, inform and shape campaigns and to ensure successful planning and measurement of campaigns, gather metrics, report on ROI and results/achievements. Provide regular status reports and post-campaign analysis with insightful observations about opportunities to refine and recalibrate existing and future tactics.
• Works with Global Corporate Affairs to intersect/influence the PR & government relations agenda.
• Responsible for the localization of integrated global marketing campaigns relating to the Pearson brand and its offerings in the US including local content sourcing and development, training, and post campaign evaluation.
• Identifies, inputs, initiates and interrogates need for each campaign against core Pearson corporate objectives, keeping in mind market needs.
• Drives engagement with all relevant leadership at all stages of campaign to ensure campaigns meet their needs and is fit for purpose.
• Drive engagement with external partners as needed to successfully plan and execute campaigns.
• Ensures relevant business stakeholders are kept informed at each stage of campaign, and campaign delivery plans remain on track and on budget. Regularly update sales, field marketing, product, and channel service leaders on the performance of marketing campaigns vs. defined goals.
• Set and monitor KPIs by channel and market segment. Continually optimizing campaigns and channels to reach and exceed business goals and revenue opportunities.
• Positively influence customers’ experience with the Pearson brand.
• Lead, motivate and focus key marketing talent.
Qualifications
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into solutions.
• 10+ years of experience managing B2B digital marketing strategies with proven track record of customer acquisition, eCRM and retention marketing.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Accustomed to working with data models and comfortable with multiple analytics programs.
• Strong experience with digital marketing, on campus and event-based marketing, and the ability to use thought leadership and partnerships for audience development.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to partner with internal sales teams.
• Powerful interpersonal skills and ability to use these to influence outcomes by communicating with persuasiveness and candor with an engaging and energetic personality. Ability to appreciate the diversity of stakeholder interactions and adapt style and approach accordingly.
• Experience working with Salesforce.com’s MarketingCloud and with Pardot.
• Ability to plan, manage, prioritize and successfully complete multiple complex projects simultaneously and in budget, whilst measuring progress.
• Experience managing vendor and agency relationships in US market.
• Experience of building strong, diverse, teams of highly talented individuals that operate as a single team.
• A track record of building and sustaining excellent internal and external relationships (at all levels) and gaining credibility to partner with/advise business leaders in addition to having a robust network of relevant external relationships.
• Ability to demonstrate sound thinking when recommending approaches and assessing business risks.
• Ability to apply creative thinking and imagination to campaign development, planning and execution as well as an unrelenting focus on the target audience.
• Ability to work under pressure, meets deadlines, remain positive and calm.
