CBS Radio seeks a solutions oriented ad sales professional for their Manager, Digital Audio Sales opportunity. The focus of this role will be to develop business with advertising agencies and clients by selling advertising and sponsorship's in CBS Radio’s streaming and on demand inventory available at Radio.com. Play.it, TuneIn and more. This person will also be instrumental in working with talent and our original content team to brainstorm new and innovating content ideas for advertisers.
You have a love of Audio - you listen to podcasts, stream music and appreciate spoken word This is a high-velocity solutions-oriented sales role requiring solid industry expertise, on-line and audio sponsorship experience, solid relationship building skills and a proven ability for closing deals.
The ideal candidate is assertive, creative, resourceful; solutions oriented and must enjoy working in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The position is located in New York; responsibilities include:
• Maximize advertising revenue generation and increase yield across multiple sales channels from Traditional Radio Buyers to Digital Agencies to Client Direct to DR to Programmatic. Pitch new business and solutions - client direct and their digital buying and planning agencies
• Be a sales hunter that has knowledge of pricing and packaging of podcast offering to close both new business and also responding to RFPs
• Manage a quota, set goals, and work with management and marketing to strategize new opportunities and creative approaches to RFIs and RFPs
• Yes, your target is Digital Audio but you think "Multi-platform solution selling!" Effectively sell into video, display, mobile, native advertising, cross-media event marketing, podcasting and audio streaming
• Face time, face time, face time: Attend trade shows and industry events to establish relationships that will flourish by conducting high volume of face-to-face calls
• Engage and strategize with senior level executives on the client side, pro-actively recommend and develop opportunities that demonstrate how CBS Radio can help meet their objectives in advance of an RFP
• Prepare proposals and respond to RFPs
• Work with Marketing and Advertising Operations to ensure the client's needs are met
• Create media plans and have a working knowledge of all reporting. Proudly communicate account and sales info to management and senior level executives
• Stay current with online advertising trends and innovations
• Work with, mentor and manage Account Managers
• You’re highly creative and ready for clients and podcast talent facing interaction
QUALIFICATIONS:
In this role, you must be a team player and enjoy the thrill of finding new business opportunities. You must be a good communicator, honest, straightforward. In addition, you must meet the following criteria:
• 5+ years new business multi-platform solutions selling with a track record of meeting/exceeding revenue goals
• 1+ years experience with Digital Audio Sales is required.
• Radio sales experience is a plus
• Established relationships and successful experience with executives at the advertisers direct and their agencies
• High level of sales maturity with emphasis on digital, television, radio, social media, cross-media, native advertising and solution selling
• Self-starter capable of thriving in a start-up environment
• Must have high level organization skills and capacity to juggle a large roster of accounts and talent simultaneously
• Demonstrated presentation skills to large and small groups
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Strong negotiation, time management, prioritization and organization skills; you have an innate ability to juggle multiple offerings at once
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Positive and infectious outlook and attitude
• Works well within a team and individually
• Experience in Digital Media, Television and Radio Sales preferred
