HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a Marketing Manager for the Harper Perennial and Harper Paperbacks imprints. The Marketing Manager will work on paperback originals, reprints, and backlist campaigns, and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the imprint’s overall social media strategy. The Marketing Manager will be expected to work independently and creatively on title-specific campaigns as well as on generating brand awareness for the imprint.
Responsibilities:
• Plans and executes marketing plans for 12-15 assigned titles a season, both paperback originals and reprints, working closely with Associate Director of Marketing.
• Manages the Harper Perennial social media presence (including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.)
• Concepts digital marketing strategies for specific titles and authors.
• Manages Harper Perennial’s presence at industry trade shows and events, including Brooklyn Book Festival and AWP.
• Oversees seasonal ebook promotions, including generating title suggestions and online promotion.
• Presents title campaigns at author and agent meetings, department meetings, and sales conference.
• Oversees group print and digital advertising, including copywriting and routing.
• Manages the Harper Perennial e-newsletter, including copywriting, scheduling and deployment.
• Collaborates with colleagues in editorial, sales, publicity, art, inventory, and more.
Qualifications:
• 5 years’ experience in book marketing
• Expertise with social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat, etc.
• Unique and authentic voice on social media
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong follow-up skills
• Creative self-starter with a love for books
• Ability to travel to industry trade shows and events
