Responsibilities
• To assist the editors to manage their publishing projects, including books and journals.
• To assist the editors to communicate with book/journal partners, authors, and reviewers.
• To work with other in-house teams to coordinate editorial, production and promotional activities.
• To support the editors with their traveling and meeting schedules, handle phone calls and emails delegated by the editors.
• To enter data into various database systems and maintain the project information throughout the publishing process.
• Under supervision of editor, fulfil book author/editor needs, build a "before, during and after" relationship with the author.
• To prepare incoming manuscripts for production and publication; thorough scrutiny of manuscripts for internal consistency and completeness; completion of all forms to be circulated with manuscripts internally.
• To prepare journal reports for editor and editorial board meetings; maintain close communication with academic journal editors and board members.
• To prepare contracts, arrange payments for authors and editors.
• To solicit peer reviews for prospects and signed projects as needed or as directed by editor.
• To help editors prepare for conferences and select titles for display.
• Occasional exhibits attendance and company representation.
• To perform related duties as required.
• To carry out other job functions as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
• Bachelor degree or above, preferably in a scientific discipline.
• Previous working experience in (STM) publishing industry is preferable.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Korean.
• Familiarity with MS Office essential; experience with databases desirable.
• Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and capability of handling multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good team player.
